about

I grew up in South Africa, started out as a scenic artist straight out of high school, and somehow ended up as a freelance colorist and editor in Tokyo. I came here on holiday in 2015 and just never really left, which feels like a perfectly reasonable life decision. I got accepted into art school, listened to my dad for the first time in my life, and decided film was probably the more financially sound creative spiral to go down. The work on this site is what happened next. I occasionally swap the monitor for a canvas when time allows and find it the perfect complement to developing a grade, minus the cmd z which keeps things interesting.

Outside of work, I'm usually on a skateboard, a snowboard, or surfing in the ocean and I play guitar just well enough to annoy my neighbours. Occasionally I’m out in nature, mostly to undo the damage from everything else. For the actual work stuff: What I care about most is finding the story in the footage and using colour to make people feel something.

If that sounds like your kind of collaborator - let's make something good.
